Cambodian Water Festival Set for April 2024 — A celebration of abundance and tradition 

The annual Cambodian festival, Bon Om Touk, commonly known as the Water Festival, is approaching, set to take place mainly in Phnom Penh and Angkor. Taking place during the full moon of the Buddhist month of Kadeuk, typically in October or early November, this occasion signifies the conclusion of the rainy season, representing auspiciousness and a plentiful harvest.

As the Mekong River changes direction, causing the Tonle Sap Lake to fill up, the main event of Bon Om Touk, the exhilarating longboat race, takes center stage. The festival spans three days, drawing crowds from across Cambodia to Phnom Penh for music concerts, traditional dances, and feasting on local delicacies.
