Maldives Participates at ITB Berlin 2024 – MMPRC at the Trade Fair After Three-year Hiatus

The sun-kissed shores of the Maldives are once again making waves on the international stage. After a three-year hiatus due to the pandemic, the Maldives Marketing & Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) made a grand return to the world’s leading travel trade fair, ITB Berlin, held from 7th to 9th March 2024. The delegation to this year’s event consisted of 233 representatives encompassing 91 companies, while the country’s attractive double-decker stand gave visitors a chance to gain insights into the many attractions and experiences on offer.

The MMPRC also showcased traditional dance and other cultural performances as well as giving attendees a chance to savour typical Maldivian cuisine. The organisation additionally hosted various networking events such as the ‘Maldives Evening’ that was exclusively for trade professionals. This travel trade fair thus provided a valuable platform for the country to reconnect with international partners, showcase its tourism revival, and solidify its position as a leading holiday destination. In the Maldives, beach resorts on private islands continue to be a popular draw; such properties including Holiday Inn Resort Kandooma Maldives remain a key allure for travellers from Europe and ITB Berlin 2024 will no doubt have paved the way to help boost arrivals this year.
