Singapore Continues Remarkable Tourism Momentum – Arrivals & Revenue to Increase in 2024

Singapore’s tourism industry, which witnessed a robust recovery in 2023, is poised for even greater heights in 2024. This was put in the spotlight by the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) on 1st February 2024 as it revealed that both international visitors and tourism receipts are projected to surge further. The STB forecasts a stellar year with arrivals hitting a range of 15 million to 16 million. This translates into a projected tourism revenue of approximately $26 billion to $27.5 billion, nearing the pre-pandemic peak of $27.7 billion recorded in 2019.

This optimistic outlook builds upon the remarkable success of 2023, which saw Singapore welcome 13.6 million visitors, generating an estimated $24.5 billion to $26 billion in tourism receipts. Notably, Indonesia, China, and Malaysia emerged as the top three tourism source markets, signifying a strong regional travel rebound. Other noteworthy markets including Australia, the United States and South Korea, also displayed a significant upswing in arrivals.

The positive trend has continued into 2024, with the country retaining its allure as a premier global tourist destination. This includes attracting budget travellers looking to enjoy stays at an affordable Singapore hotel with easy access to key attractions. Such properties the likes of Hotel 81 Heritage are catering to the growing demand of tourists returning with enthusiasm to experience the diverse offerings of the Lion City once more.
