Enhancing the connection between London and the South African city of Johannesburg, British Airways recently announced that it would be offering double daily flights on its Airbus A380 this winter. The largest commercial aircraft in the world, it can accommodate a little under 500 passengers and is seen as the ideal choice to meet the expected winter demand for this particular route. It should be noted that the A380 is used by British Airways based on seasonal demand, and beginning from 1st June 2025, this aircraft will be employed for daily flights to Johannesburg for the summer season too.
This connection gives passengers a chance to easily fly from London Heathrow Airport to O.R. Tambo International Airport (formerly called Johannesburg International Airport). For travellers, this also means they can enjoy easy access to hotels in Sandton, Johannesburg, in the heart of the city’s business district. This includes properties like NH Johannesburg Sandton close to the Johannesburg Stock Exchange and within easy reach of Sandton Gautrain Station, which offers high-speed connections to the airport and Pretoria.
