The recent implementation of a mutual visa exemption agreement between China and Thailand has sparked a surge in enthusiasm among Thai tourists towards visiting China. Tour guides and luxury serviced apartments as well as hotels such as those by Discover ASR are witnessing a notable increase in bookings, with schedules fully booked from March to April, reflecting the growing interest in exploring Chinese destinations. Porntip Rojansunan, part of a group of Thai visitors benefiting from the visa waiver, expressed admiration for the profound history and rich culture of Shanxi Province during their five-day trip, highlighting the positive impact of the visa-free policy on cultural exchanges between the two countries.
The visa waiver has not only boosted tourism between China and Thailand but has also led to an increase in travel orders, indicating a reciprocal interest in visiting each other’s countries. Qin Jing, vice president of Trip.com Group, emphasized the significance of the mutual visa exemption for fostering tourism growth and enhancing cultural exchanges. China’s commitment to facilitating entry for foreign nationals, evidenced by the expansion of visa-free policies to more countries and the recent adoption of trial visa-free policies for select European nations, underscores its dedication to promoting the global economy, trade, and personnel exchanges.
