The Maldives continues to bask in the sunshine of a resurgent tourism industry, with a significant growth in arrivals this year. According to the nation’s Ministry of Tourism, as of May 15th, 2024, a total of 837,189 tourists had entered the Maldives, marking an impressive 11.5% year-on-year growth. This translated to a daily arrivals average of 6,156 visitors, while the average stay duration in this island paradise was eight days.
China continued to reign supreme as the leading source market, contributing 11.1% of total arrivals at the time. However, there was a shift in the rankings for the second and third spots.
