Roadshows in Australia - Image via Travel Voice
Sri Lanka Tourism successfully concluded its first-ever roadshow series in Australia in March 2024. Targeting three key cities – Brisbane (19th March), Sydney (21st March) and Melbourne (25th March) – the roadshows aimed to showcase the island nation’s diverse tourism offerings and solidify its position as a captivating travel destination. The multi-city initiative adopted a strategic approach. Business-to-Business (B2B) sessions facilitated in-depth discussions between Sri Lankan tourism representatives and Australian travel industry professionals. Networking events further strengthened partnerships, fostering collaboration for future endeavours.
The roadshows also highlighted the vast array of experiences on offer from leisure and business travel to Meetings, Incentives, Conferences & Exhibitions (MICE) tourism. The country continues to draw travellers from around the globe looking to enjoy the many enchanting things to see in Sri Lanka. It is no surprise that experiential adventures organised by specialised travel consultants like Ceylon Tours remain a popular choice amongst tourists. Meanwhile, by the end of May this year, the country had welcomed 896,779 visitors and will be looking to add to this figure in the months to come to reach its 2.3 million arrivals target for 2024.
