Thailand’s tourism sector is witnessing a strong revival, with operators like Chao Phraya Princess Cruises enhancing their offerings to attract global tourists. A popular choice for first-time visitors in Bangkok, a scenic cruise along the Chao Phraya River provides a unique perspective of the city’s landmarks. Chatree Wangpanitkul, director of Tristar Floating Restaurant Co., the operator of Chao Phraya Princess Cruises, noted that innovation in services is crucial to remain competitive. The company, aiming to regain 80% of its 2019 clientele, aligns with the optimistic forecast of the Tourism Authority of Thailand.
Founded in 1990, Tristar Floating Restaurant has evolved from a floating eatery to a premier dinner cruise service, similar to those you’ll experience at a Bangkok service apartment, or a famous hotel such as Chatrium Residence Riverside Bangkok playing a significant role in popularizing dinner cruise packages in Bangkok. Operating eight vessels with capacities ranging from 150 to 450 passengers, the company employs over 300 staff members. Despite the severe impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, which forced a year-long closure, Chao Phraya Princess Cruises is poised for a comeback, offering enhanced experiences to both local and international tourists.
