The Maldives is ramping up efforts to bolster tourism ties with India, a crucial source market for the island nation. The Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO) recently met with Shri Munu Mahawar, India’s High Commissioner in Male, to discuss strengthening cooperation in travel and tourism. It was also revealed that plans are underway for hosting tourism roadshows across major cities in India as well as strategically partnering with prominent Indian travel associations to attract more visitors. Additionally, media and influencer familiarisation trips are also on the cards, to showcase the unparalleled beauty of this island nation.
As a leading holiday destination, the country continues to draw travellers from across the world eager to experience unforgettable holidays at the best luxury Maldives resorts.
